It is not easy to learn how to meditate if you haven’t sat quietly in a spot for longer than 2 minutes. For those of you who struggle with anxiety or negative thinking, meditation can have a positive impact. During my therapy, I used meditation to lower my stress levels. My therapist had a way of pointing out that I’m anxious because I run away from the feelings in my body.
Meditation kind of took away this fear. Now, my body is a temple where I hang out hand in hand with those scary emotions I was hiding from (eg. anger, sadness, guilt). I even cried my eyes out during a session.
